If you searched “control resonant underhill”, you are looking for a missing Mold researcher in a side story, not a separate game. These notes cover how New Growth starts, which keys you pick up, and whether the last talk changes the loot.
Unofficial fan notes. Not affiliated with Remedy Entertainment, Annapurna, or the publishers of the game. No official logos, key art, or screenshots.
Spoiler warning. Quest names, item names, and a short start guide sit in the open text. The numbered route, specimen hunt, and the three ending options sit inside the marked sections below. Open those only if you want story beats.
This page was not played in-game. Every step is from dated guides, compared against each other. Facts the guides do not agree on are marked disputed or unverified.
New Growth is a Park side story. PowerPyx (fetched 5 October 2026) lists two starts after the main mission The Hedron Link:
PowerPyx’s Zoe’s Briefing page also says the quest can begin if you already picked up the Level 6 clearance card in The Park. GamesRadar (30 September 2026) says you start it only after the full main story. That disagrees with the trophy walkthroughs and is unverified here.
Guides that name a reward agree on one item: the Untapped Brass Dusters artifact recipe. GamesRadar describes the effect as +50% combat ability damage and no Falter. That effect text was not checked in-game.
GamesRadar also reports a Park zone-level increase. AllThingsHow reports a talent point and a power-upgrade pickup inside the lab. Those extras were not confirmed by PowerPyx’s New Growth page.
The Budding Mycologist trophy is disputed. PowerPyx’s New Growth and Carbon Copy pages both say you need this quest and the Carbon Copy chain. GameRant (22 September 2026, before launch) and AllThingsHow credit the trophy to New Growth alone. Until someone checks in-game, assume Carbon Copy is still required.
GamesRadar (30 September 2026), GameRant, and AllThingsHow agree on the useful part: the last talk does not change the quest reward. Pick whichever line you prefer. The three options themselves are behind the spoiler block below.
Dated guides list three lines:
GamesRadar says Zoe later comments on the call, with no long-term mechanical change. This page has not replayed those scenes.
This is the part most long walkthroughs scatter. Order below is what PowerPyx, GameRant, and AllThingsHow share. Item names are spoilers of inventory, not of the ending.
AllThingsHow’s specimen page and controlresonant.guide (updated 3 October 2026) use the same three labels. PowerPyx is vaguer and points at map icons instead. Locations below are those two pages, not an in-game pin.
When a trail splits, those pages say the remaining order does not matter. PowerPyx says a cloud icon with an exclamation mark marks a subject on the map. Pulse control is reported as L1 / LB on AllThingsHow and controlresonant.guide; this page did not capture the PC binding.
AllThingsHow mentions Assist Mode one-hit kills as an optional setting for Specimen A. That is a menu option, not a required step.
No. Searchers looking for “control resonant underhill” are looking for Dr. Raya Underhill, an NPC in the New Growth side story. The game itself is Remedy Entertainment’s CONTROL Resonant, released 24 September 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Trophy walkthroughs list two starts after the main mission The Hedron Link: talk to Zoe in the Watchtower (Zoe’s Briefing), or talk to FBC staff on the Park rooftop base. PowerPyx also notes the quest can begin if you pick up the Level 6 clearance card in The Park first. GamesRadar’s claim that you must finish the whole main story first disagrees with those pages and is treated as unverified here.
Dated guides agree the last conversation does not change the quest reward. GamesRadar, GameRant, and AllThingsHow all say you still get the Brass Dusters artifact recipe either way. GamesRadar also reports a Park zone-level increase. This page has not replayed the endings in-game.
Disputed. PowerPyx’s trophy pages say you need New Growth and the full Carbon Copy chain. GameRant and AllThingsHow credit the trophy to New Growth alone. Until an in-game check, treat Carbon Copy as required.
Primary in-game capture: none. If a later pass plays the quest, upgrade disputed rows instead of copying a new press page.
